Josh plays on Trumpets, Alto, Tenor, Bass Trombones, and Bass Trumpets by Schlub Brass Works. He also plays several vintage trombones. His Tuba is a vintage Alexander.

Josh uses Monster Oil for his valves and tuning slides, and Yamaha Slide Lubricant on his trombone slides.

Josh uses Protec Metal Straight Mutes, Japanese-Made Yupon Straight, Cup, Solotone, and Practice Mutes, as well as Trapani Harmon Mutes for both tenor and bass trombone.
